John J. Winkle

John J. Winkle, “Wink”, formerly of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away on April 11th, 2020. Beloved husband of Alice Winkle (nee Guckin). Loving father of Peggy Kaspar (Rich), Kevin Winkle (Rene) and the late John Winkle (Antonia). Also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher Kaspar, Kevin Winkle, Andrew Winkle, Tonya Warren, Benjamin Winkle, Brenda Winkle and Amore Winkle. Great Grandfather of Alanna Fisher and Elvis Winkle. Predeceased by his sister Anna Amato. John was a US Army Paratrooper – 11th Airborne Division. He attended the Airborne school, Fort Benning, GA, was stationed in Sendai, Japan, served in Tokyo and Korea. John was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He retired from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).Because of the current health concerns, the viewing, funeral mass and burial will be in private. John will be laid to rest in Washington Crossing Nation Cemetery.
