Dolores Hughes

Dolores Hughes, of the Bridgesburg section of Philadelphia, formerly of the Mayfair section, passed away September 24th, 2020 at the age of 80. Daughter of the late William Jones and Kathryn Fisher. Wife of the late Mortimer Hughes. Loving companion of Irving Spitzer “Frank”. Loving mother of Denise Truitt, Debra Gablein (Thomas), Darlene Carroll (the late Jeffrey), Diane Brady (Timothy), Scott Hughes (Cherlynn) and the late Mark Hughes. Beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren. She was predeceased by Frederick Truitt and Mark Dolniak. Great-grandmother of 14 great-grandchildren as well as the late Jayden Djukanovic. Great-great grandmother of Emma. Sister of Marie Pyne (Donald), Charmaine Capobianco and Sharon Roberts. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Dolores’ life on Wednesday September 30th,  at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19135 (between Unruh & Knorr Sts.) You may visit and comfort Dolores’ family during the viewing from 9:30AM-11:00AM in the Funeral Home. There will be a private Prayer Service at 11:00AM. Burial to follow in St. Dominic Cemetery. Due to the current health concerns, face masks are required, and there will be a limit of 25 people at a time inside of the funeral home.
