Francis “Frank” John Mahon passed away August 6th, 2018 at the age of 58. Beloved son of George H. Mahon Jr. and the late Elizabeth “Betty” Mahon. Frank is the brother of Eileen (Don), George (Robin), Tom (Lorina), Dan (Ellen), and Mike (Chrissie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Frank grew up in Ardsley as the 4th child in a family of 6. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and trapping from an early age. He pretty much single handedly wiped out the Muskrat population along the banks of the Sandy Run Creek. Fishing was a passion that carried into adulthood. He grew up in a roofing family and went into the business as a teenager and stayed with it into his 30’s. He spent the last 2 decades tending bar at the North Penn VFW Post 676, where he was beloved by all. Frank was known to be guided by the beat of his own drum. He was a kind hearted and charming man whose personality made everyone he met befriend him. He will be deeply missed by his sister, brother, nieces, nephews and his many friends at the North Penn VFW who became as much as a family to him as his own. Rest in peace our brother, son, uncle and friend. You were and are a good soul. All are invited to celebrate Franks life on Saturday August 11, 2018 from 12:00PM – 4:00PM at the North Penn VFW Post 676 located at 2519 Jenkintown Rd. Glenside, PA 19038. In lieu of flowers, donations to Steel for Service (A charity that benefits Veterans) in Franks name would be greatly appreciated. All donations can be made at the North Penn VFW.
