Alice Lee Lawless (Slawnyk) passed away unexpectedly in her home August 28th, 2018 in Philadelphia at the age of 55. Alice is survived by her 4 sons and and daughter-in-laws, Glenn & Melissa of Larksville, PA, Joseph & Marybeth of Gilbertsville PA, Nicholas & Megan of Waldorf MD, and Freddie of Phila. PA. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Brooklyn, Joey, London, Logan, Britton, Liam, Carley, and Livia along with her father Joseph “Richard” Slawnyk of Stockton CA, her mother Phyllis Bonghi of New Brunswick GA and her brother Joseph Slawnyk of New Brunswick GA. She is preceded in death by her brother Ronald Slawnyk. Alice was born on February 11th, 1963 in Philadelphia PA to Joseph Richard Slawnyk & Phyllis bonghi (Windon). She attended Mastbaum High school from 1977-1980. Received her associates degree from Lackawanna College in 1998. Alice held many vocations, with a specialty in Tax Accounting & Notary services being of particular interest to her. She enjoyed crafting gifts for her friends and family, especially baking breads and confectionery treats. She had made many friends from Philadelphia to Wyalusing PA (and beyond) where her family resided for a majority of her children’s lives until moving back home with her youngest, whom she cared for full time. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember and celebrate Alice’s life on Saturday September 1st at McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. 6711 Frankford Ave. Phila PA 19135. (between Unruh & Knorr sts). You may visit and comfort the Lawless family during the visitation from 9:00AM-10:00AM. After the visitation there will be a Prayer Service at 10:00AM in the Funeral Home. There will be no cemetery that day as Alice’s wishes were to be cremated.
